This particular framed antique print features a Manchurian Trout, taken from a rare Soviet atlas, which was part of Lev Semyonovich Berg's 1949 study "Commercial fish of the USSR" «Промысловые рыбы СССР».

Chromolithography is the technique used for creating multi-colored prints, and this particular print was made using a variety of colors on stones or metal plates. The result is a stunning visual representation of the Asiatic trout or Manchurian trout, printed on high-quality paper.

The print was created from fine watercolors by multiple artists, and each exquisite print contains the names of the fish in Russian and Latin, with the legends located under the mat. This print reads "ЛЕНОК — Brachymystax lenok (Pall.)" (LENOK — Brachymystax lenok (Pall.), showcasing the beauty of this fish species. Lenoks, otherwise known as Asiatic trout or Manchurian trout, are salmonid fish of the genus Brachymystax, native to rivers and lakes in Mongolia, Kazakhstan, wider Siberia, Northern China and Korea.

This rare work represents the economic freshwater, game, and sea fishes of the former USSR and was highly commended for its unique and valuable contribution to ichthyology. The prints have been rescued from a damaged edition and will make a stunning statement piece in any room. Don't miss the chance to add this beautiful and unique piece of history to your collection.
