Audubon Bird Art Print 1940s 1st Ed - Many to choose from - Mostly MINT

Funky Christmas / Everyday Funky

These prints etc. come from my father-in-law's estate. We have an entire weaving and yarn shop inventory to sell that was filled to the brim.

These pages were found in a locked glass bookcase in my father-in-law's yarn shop.  This book is in MINT condition.  There is no spine; these are loose leaf cardstock.  There is no dust jacket.  There are no boards.  No marks or highlighting in text.  Pages are crisp, clean and unmarked.  Cover lies flat. Some color photographs.  Illustrated, collectible, 1st edition.

These pages are is in MINT or NEAR MINT condition.  All pages have very, very minor ageing.  That is all we see but please assume we missed something because, sigh, old eyes.  Please see pictures.

Also, this is ex-library, from back in the day when people didn't mess with other people's things.  There are ink stamps on the back of every page stating "Teacher's room."  This means it wasn't in general circulation.

All prints are MINT unless noted below.  Please note: we specifically chose the slightly darker photographs because they show imperfections better than in regular light.  The actual color is an lovely antique white.  Please go over every inch of the picture to be sure that it is in a condition you want and you know EXACTLY what you are getting as we did NOT mention anything that would NOT be seen under a frame.  For example, a couple of prints have pin holes in the upper corners.  That would NOT show under a frame.  Also, please note, what appeared to be smudges were little line drawings.  See the spider on the bluebirds - cute!  We try to note every imperfection we see, but alas, have old eyes.  Please see pictures.

While going through the prints to list them, we noticed that any smudge we noted seemed to come from the printers’ ink.  It’s not pencil, pen, paint, or anything else we can discern.

For the most part, the prints are 9" by 12 5/8s".  For framing purposes, it would depends on if you want the info paragraphs to show in the frame...without those the height would be just under 11 1/2 inches tall.  And of course, that varies by how much information is in the info paragraph.

Plate 86 - Harlan's Hawk has a library stamp on the print.  It can still be framed.  Also, more aged, not bright white.  Priced accordingly.

Plate 129 – Crested Flycatcher – Small smudge upper left edge.  Not sure if it would show.

Plate 208 – Eskimo Curlew – 2 small tears on left edge.  Light smudge at top left.

Plate 252 – Double-Crested Cormorant – Smudge (like print ink?) upper left side.

Plate 286 – White-Fronted Goose – Triangular bend upper right side. Don’t think it will show.

Plate 287 – Ivory Gull – Slight smudge upper left top edge.

Please see pictures.  Descriptions of individual listings are found below.  Individual pictures are found above the price on this page on the drop down menu.

Also, please note – Thank you to the buyer who pointed out that eBay was NOT charging only 25 cents, and instead charged each page individually at full price.  Arrgh.  So now, here is how to get multiple purchases for a reasonable shipping charge (even though we would have returned the extra automatically).

Every 3 pages are an ounce.  If you buy 3 or less, it is one ounce.  If you buy 48 pages, you have to go to the next level – so $4.67.  We doubt that will ever happen.  However, to save on shipping you MUST have 1 page in 1 order, and put all the extra pages into a second order using the ‘local pickup’ option.  There are no shipping charges for that.  We will AUTOMATICALLY combine your shipping to save you money.

We ALWAYS return any excess money not used in actual shipping.

Please NOTE: Old books are heavy books.  Safe shipping may move them into the next postal category.  Sorry!

Please NOTE:  We live in Michigan and it is winter.  We have the Lake Effect almost every day – massive cloud cover.  We are doing the best we can with interior lighting for the pictures.

Also, please NOTE:  Almost every book has a smudge somewhere.  We mention it if we see it, but please assume we missed something.

PLEASE NOTE: Because eBay is composed of soulless, bloodsucking monsters, and because it is forcing us to use an ISBN number for a book that DOES NOT have an ISBN number, and even when it DOES have an ISBN, still won’t let us use it, so we use one of a random book. Our book is pre-ISBN numbers. The Library of Congress number is 7283911. The LOC does not hyphenate when you put the number in to verify. Fake ISBN number is 9781014236289.  Correct ISBN number is 3822885606.  We put in whichever one the system will take. Sorry!

Note: We are running out of estate books and will be slowly changing over to their other possessions – some serious, some MCM, some just funky, or kitschy.  Others are Depression era.  Some will be brand new items, still in their packaging, and others will be more mainstream books (from one of the Grandma’s) or some of our personal books or collectables, as we are not leaving this mess to our kids.  We hope you fun and stay with us.

Shipping – All books are shipped on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday on the first day possible after payment is received around 8 to 9 AM. They are shipped by Media Mail in heavy brown paper, similar to a grocery paper bag.  All wrapping and shipping materials are recycled from the cardboard to bubble wrap to 50 year old envelopes. Our packages are ugly, but are very carefully wrapped to arrive safely.  We always refund shipping credit if you buy multiple items.  Free local pick up.  We refund your shipping charges!
