These books etc. come from my father-in-law's estate. We have an entire weaving and yarn shop inventory to sell that was filled to the brim.
This poster was found in a locked glass bookcase in my father-in-law's yarn shop. It is in NEAR MINT condition. There is no spine. There is no dust jacket.. There are no boards. No marks or highlighting in text. Pages are crisp, clean and unmarked. Mixed color and black and white illustrations. Illustrated, collectible, 1st edition.
This VERY RARE poster is in NEAR MINT condition. It is ex-library from back in the day when people didn't mess with other people's things. There are two pin hole in the upper corners and two staple marks near the bottom corners. There is a tiny tear starting on the right side near the fold in the Old Dutch Church and another maybe 1 1/2 inch one in the center bottom fold which we gently tacked down for safe shipping. Also another tiny one slightly to the left of that. There are two library stamps at the bottom of the poster as well as a note that says Washington Irving in pencil on the bottom left corner as well as a tiny bit missing from that corner. It measures 30 1/2 by 20 inches and was folded in the past. It will be sent in it's folded form. That is all we see wrong with this poster. Please see pictures. And yes, we took two shots of the same poster. The actual color is somewhere between the two shots. It is a bright white, but one was too bright and the other took dark. In between is 'just right'.
When we originally went to list this, we found 2 listings for over $750. We thought those people were on drugs. Serious drugs. Those listings are gone, but there is another on Poster Auctioneer for $869 US. All other listings are in museums. We don't do drugs and just want this to go to somebody who will appreciate it. PLEASE NOTE: Because eBay is composed of soulless, bloodsucking monsters, and because it is forcing us to use an ISBN number for a book that DOES NOT have an ISBN number, and even when it DOES have an ISBN, still won’t let us use it, so we use one of a random book. Our book is pre-ISBN numbers. The Library of Congress number is non-existent. The LOC does not hyphenate when you put the number in to verify. Fake ISBN number is 9781014236289. Correct ISBN number is non-existent. We put in whichever one the system will take. Sorry!
Note: We are running out of estate books and will be slowly changing over to their other possessions – some serious, some MCM, some just funky, or kitschy. Others are Depression era. Some will be brand new items, still in their packaging, and others will be more mainstream books (from one of the Grandma’s) or some of our personal books or collectables, as we are not leaving this mess to our kids. We hope you have fun and stay with us.
Shipping – All books are shipped on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday on the first day possible after payment is received around 8 to 9 AM. They are shipped by Media Mail in heavy brown paper, similar to a grocery paper bag. All wrapping and shipping materials are recycled from the cardboard to bubble wrap to 50 year old envelopes. Our packages are ugly, but are very carefully wrapped to arrive safely. We always refund shipping credit if you buy multiple items. Free local pick up. We refund your shipping charges!
