From a Beautiful Large Estate Collection of Beads.

The Chevron Bead originated in Italy. The first examples were 7 layer beads and later approximately in the 1700's were manufactured in the much more common 6 layer beads. Some were 4 layer. They are blown glass

and shaped by grinding into the wonderful shapes we see today. T&T / the Howard Family Collection has an extensive collection of these beads compiled over 35+ years from many countries.
