New X-Men written by Grant Morrison and featuring the mutant superhero team was a retitling of the ongoing X-MEN (1991) series following the same numbering as opposed to creating a different ongoing series with a new number one issue. It took up right from X-MEN (1991) issue 113 and was reverted to the same title again after issue 156.
