This listing is for Cloud Silver paint for the Vintage Honda Motorcycles. This color is for many models including SL, CB, CL, MR, XR & CR motorcycles. This is a custom mix that I use on my reproductions and when used properly will accurately mimic the Special Silver color. When you order a Pint or a Quart of paint, you get a full Pint or Quart of paint that reduces 1:1 so there is double the sprayable material.
Frames on Honda SL's. Tanks and Fenders on CL72's and CL77's. Wheels on Z50's & CT70's.
I sell the compatible Reducer. Please see “Sellers Other Items”.
As with any paint work, cleanliness & preparation are paramount to getting good results. I typically sell the aerosol paints to people wanting to paint one panel of their bike. For reference, it takes 5 of these aerosol cans to equal the amount of paint in a pint can.
I sell a compatible Clear in both Aerosol
and Quart. Please see "Sellers Other Items".
I sell a compatible Primer in
Aerosol form. Please see “Sellers Other
Items”.

FAQS:
The paint you are purchasing
is PPG DBC Basecoat / Clearcoat Urethane.
If you are not familiar with
PPG products, you can find further information by searching “PPG DBC” which
should help you with application and dry time questions.
Reducer:
If you are
receiving the paint in aerosol form, there is no need to worry about reducing
the paint. Anything purchased as a pint or quart needs to be reduced 1:1
with PPG reducer. In our shop we use part number 885 reducer. There
are other slower and faster dry time reducers available for your particular
environment.
Candy Paint:
If the paint you
are receiving is “Candy”, it will require a base color under the paint as the
Candy is semi-transparent and picks up the color from underneath. If
you purchased Candy and didn’t purchase the base color, you will not get the proper
effect. I sell the base color in aerosol as well as pints or
quarts. It is very difficult to "touch up" candy paint
jobs. I only encourage full repaint of any particular piece of your
motorcycle when candy paint is involved.
Clear Coat:
All of the paints
that I sell require a clear coat after the application of the
paint. I sell clear in aerosol as well as by the quart. If you
are purchasing liquid clear it is advisable to add a catalyzer to the
clear. In our shop we use PPG DCX61.
You can find that for sale under “Sellers Other Items”.
PLEASE NOTE: I CANNOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY
FOR YOUR APPLICATION OF THE PAINT AND ANY MISTAKES MADE. IF YOU HAVE ANY
QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR ABILITY TO APPLY PAINT, THEN PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE THIS
ITEM. OUR PAINT SHOP SPECIALIZES IN REPAINTING / REFINISHING THESE
VINTAGE PAINT COLORS AND WE GUARANTEE OUR WORK WHEN WE PREP, CLEAN, PAINT,
CLEAR AND BUFF THE END RESULT. IF THIS LISTING IS FOR A "CANDY"
COLOR, THEN IT MUST BE APPLIED OVER A VERY SPECIFIC BASE COLOR. IF YOU
CHOOSE TO USE A CANDY PAINT WITHOUT THE PROPER BASE COLOR, I CANNOT TAKE
RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE RESULTS. I WORK HARD TO MATCH THESE PAINTS, BUT IT
MAY BE BEST TO LEAVE THE WORK TO A PROFESSIONAL. I CANNOT GIVE REFUNDS ON
PARTIALLY USED PAINT. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PAINT, CONTACT
ME BEFORE USING.
