Martin Mayer 1886 800 Silver German Sugar Tongs Claws Talons Angel Wings Theme.

With the help of some experts, we were able to decipher year, maker and origin of these sugar tongs with claws/talons. We are particularly enamored with the Angel and wings on either side - at least that’s how we interpreted it. Very delicately done by master German silversmith Martin Mayer.

Found at an estate sale in the US Midwest. The travels these tongs have made!
