Foam dimensions. These foams are slightly different, and done that way by painstaking research and design. If you’re familiar with refoaming Cerwins, you’ve undoubtedly seen where the ID of the foam is just slightly too large, so when you’re done, you can see a little of the old glue ring inside your new foam, leaving a sloppy look. I specified these foams to be exactly a little different from the rest out there, and had them produced, from scratch, just for me, and now for you. So, these foams are not the same as any other you have ever gotten. First, if you measure the glue ring on a 15” Cerwin woofer cone, it comes in around 1/8 smaller, than the ID dimension of many other foams out there. (leaving that unsightly ring) These foams have a slightly smaller ID, giving you a 1/8 cushion all the way around, so when you are done, you will have a clean look. On the OD, you will also see that my foams have a larger OD, so you have more flat foam to glue to your frame. Some of the other kits are so stingy, you have just a little bit. These are wider, like Cerwin Vega originally used, although not so wide, that you run out of adjustment space when centering the cone. Then, there’s thickness. There’s a wide variance out there. These are thicker than the cheap China ones, and correct for the woofers listed. (these are different than, and not for, the clsc and xls woofers) And of course, color. Cerwin used red over gray. These are red over gray. Not paper thin like the red ones they sell from China. Not pink over gray like many sellers have. But correct thickness, RED, over gray. Glue: I’ve refoamed and reconed many hundreds of woofers over decades, and tried every glue there is. You get the BCA3035 in the tube, the best quality you can get.  Includes tips and tricks learned from decades of doing this myself. This kit includes two foams, and fit almost every Cerwin Vega 15” woofer made with angle attach. The exceptions are the CLSC and XLS woofers, and any woofer with a flat attach. It's hard to make a complete list, as Cerwin used many different cones and foams, with all differing dimensions (even on the same model there were many variences), and recones over the years have changed styles too. The best way to get the closest foam to what you need refoamed, is by measurements, not model. These foams have an ID of about 292mm when glued. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. If you're not sure if these will work, shoot me a picture and I'll tell you. These are, the absolute best kits available. You can save twelve bucks, and look at glue rings and pink foams for the next 20 years, or spend the extra $12 and get the very best. If you want quantity, don’t need glue, etc, reach out. I will put together whatever kind of package you want.
Also included with this kit are two dustcaps. The more common size is the 3.75" caps. I also have the 4.5" dustcaps. I'll include the 3.75" as standard, but if you want the 4.5" instead just message me when you buy, and I'll pack those. Also included is a full shim kit. These are cut to size to fit the 2" coils that almost every Vega woofer uses. You get 4 full size shims, .003, .003, .004, and .005. With those, you can shim the coil at any gap from .003 to .012. This is important. Most kits that have shims, have "one size fits all".  After reconing many hundreds of Cerwin woofers, I can tell you that the coil gaps are quite variable, even on the same woofer model. The only way to get the right size, is to add up shims till you get there. If your gap is .008, and you use just a .005 shim, you're not fully centered. You could be tilted .003. You don't want that. The reason for the "one size fits all" is shim stock is EXPENSIVE. But here you get the full kit which can be used over and over.
Will be packed securely and shipped promptly. This kit includes two foams. Thanks!
