Description

Offered here is this wonderful Mid to Late 19th Century Antique Victorian Mahogany Carved Back Dining Chair with Woven Rush Seat.  This chair, I believe, dates to the Mid to Late19th Century, most likely between 1880 and 1900.  The chair is in very good condition, with only some light surface scratches on it, that are typical of such an old piece. There are a few areas where the finish is damaged, or chipped off, and these can be seen in the photos.  It has a carved splat back with a woven rush seat. The seat has obviously been redone, and is in very good condition, with only light signs of wear. The chair has sabre legs on the front, and turned tapering legs on the back. There is some slight separation at the back on the side of the vase where this portion of the splat connects to the supports.  The chair is a smaller size, measuring 34" tall at the center of the back, 14" wide at the back of the seat, 16" wide at the front of the seat, 16" deep at the seat, 19" deep total, and 18" high at the seat.  It is just a lovely little dining side chair, in great carved back vase detail, and would be a wonderful addition to any antique collection.  It is beautiful, and completely functional.
