Just in time for the holiday season, this sale is for a large vintage Tiffany & Co., asparagus fork/serving piece.  The pattern is Atlantis - Ailanthus patented in 1899 with fancy flared tines. It is 9 1/2" long, 3 7/8" wide and weighs 5.5 ounces (5 Troy ounces). Its marked on the reverse " PAT. Tiffany & Co., Sterling 1899".  There is a well executed hand etched monogram on the reverse medallion (see the last two pictures).  It appears as if its "W&R".  Appropriate that the mono is on the rear of the server since this pattern precludes its placement on the front which is a beautiful Art Nouveau pattern.  Denoting Tiffany quality the piece was designed with a small field on the rear specifically for monograming.  Due to its age there are some cleaning marks (micro scratches) on the tines of the server, its not mirror clean like it was new.  Let us know if there is any other information you would like.  Now for the boilerplate.

Please ask all questions prior to purchase since this is a no return sale (unless the item is significantly different than described).  We've only had one return in over five hundred transactions on eBay (it was a mistake on my part, forgot to check the battery compartment in a camera's flash unit).  We treat our buyers the way we'd want to be treated if we were the buyers.

We usually ship within 3 days of payment. This server will be shipped using USPO  Ground Advantage.   The wife and I are comfortably retired and we're doing this to get rid of three generations of hoarding and its pizza and beer money for the grandkids in college.  We believe it's dishonest to make money off shipping, you pay exactly what it takes to get your item(s) from our house to where ever you direct us to ship your item(s).  We customarily overestimate shipping weight to assure shipping costs are covered. If there is a significant differential (more than $1) between the actual shipping cost and what you paid for shipping you will be reimbursed (our 100% guarantee).  If its less than $1, thank you for the contribution to our eBay funded IRA (we're up to about $39).  The Server will be carefully wrapped for safe delivery.

Buyers are responsible for additional costs i.e., insurance, customs duties, enhanced levels of delivery, etc..  Notify us prior to payment if any of these "non-customary" circumstances exist in order that proper adjustments may be made.  Just our personal opinion but we don't think insurance is necessary in the majority of transactions but sometimes its cheap piece of mind.  This might be one of those times due to the value of the item and its rarity.  A U.S. postal worker will witness its final wrapping prior to turning it over for shipping.

Lastly, we post feedback for those that leave us feedback.  It signals to those using eBay that we're trustworthy sellers and you are valued buyers.  It only takes a minute.  Again, thanks for looking.
