Antique Chinese Export Silver Tazza by Kwong Man Shing, Hong Kong and Canton circa 1900

This finely engraved and stylish silver Tazza from Kwong Man Shing is a simple yet functional and interesting example of an export silver Tazza demonstrating a confluence of cultural styles. Balanced on a two piece highly polished planished plinth, the “fragile” lotus blossom shaped silver platform nestles a finely engraved dragon between the applied oversize silver handles, designed not only for ease of use but to add gravitas to this otherwise dainty sweetmeat dish. The engraved form is well executed and the factory mark legible but the artisan’s chop is not as easily deciphered. While there is some light scratching, the piece is in extremely good antique condition for a circa 1900 example with no repairs or bruises evident. A dainty but extremely functional example of an Export Silver Tazza from Kwong Man Shing which is sure to satisfy the stylish decorator or serious collector looking to add this must have name to any export silver collection.
