The Mega 297 Carbon Fast is a carbon fibre enduro race frame equipped with a Fast Suspension Fenix EVO Enduro rear shock. This full-suspension enduro race frame offers the best of modern 29in front wheel size for an outstanding balance of control and efficiency with plush and responsive coil suspension performance. Ideal for speeding across unpredictable terrain, loose and wet conditions and steep technical climbs and descents, the Mega frame is designed with enduro-optimised race-ready geometry with improved suspension kinematics and internally piped cable routing, making it ideal for handling the demands of enduro racing while also providing a clean, sleek and stylish finish. The Nukeproof Mega has been Nukeproof’s best-selling model for over 12 years. The Mega has been racking up awards on enduro stages and in the press around the world. With four Enduro World Series (EWS) titles to its name, the Nukeproof Mega has become an icon synonymous with enduro racing. Since 2009, the Nukeproof Mega has been in constant development to meet the demands of Nukeproof riders and customers alike. As a result, the Mega Carbon V4 frame is available for 27.5”, 29” or new Mixed (Front 29”/Rear 27.5” wheel sizes) wheel setups, with each frame design tailored around each wheel size.Full Suspension Carbon Fibre Enduro Race Frame Engineered for optimised frame weight, strength and stiffness, the Mega Carbon frame features a T700/800 UD woven carbon fibre frameset (Front and rear Triangle). The carbon swingarms help reduce the unsprung weight at the rear of the bike - this helps improve suspension performance. All forged parts are made from 6061-T6 aluminium. After winning four Enduro World Series Titles in three years, the V4 design is an evolution of Nukeproof’s ultimate enduro bike. At the heart of the frame is the brand’s revised suspension Kinematic, designed to be more subtle off the top, whilst remaining progressive and predictable. Anti-Squat is used to create an efficient pedalling bike that can be thrashed through technical terrain. The useable SAG range is also widened to allow riders to tune the suspension to the trails.Key Features: All-new UD Carbon chassisImproved suspension kinematicsTube-In-Tube design for easy cable installationAll-new geometryOptimised sizing/fit - Small to XX-LargeSRAM UDHRoom for a 750ml water bottle inside the main front triangle The updated Mega frame geometry features a dynamic saddle offset for balanced seated rider weight distribution on each frame size. This dynamic saddle offset means that each frame size has a bespoke seat angle. In addition, the actual seat tube is shorter overall and offers a deeper maximum insert depth that allows a longer dropper post if required.Fast Suspension Fenix EVO Enduro Coil Rear Shock The Fenix was released in January 2019 and immediately proved its worth and performance by reaching the Enduro World Series podiums. The Fenix EVO stemmed from the idea of having a shock as efficient as a downhill shock with an integrated climb mode that stays independent from the other adjustments. Fast Suspension has kept all the strengths of the Fenix with the VDP piston that gives incomparable comfort and track feedback. The adjustable low-speed, medium speed compression and the dedicated high-speed piston. Fast focused their attention on the design of the EVO head for compatibility with more frame designs. And they also thought about making your life easier if you want to change your shock stroke without needing to open the shock thanks to the new spring retainer designFast Suspension Fenix EVO Enduro Rear Shock Benefits: Shock: Fast Suspension Fenix EVO Enduro Coil, Integrated Climb Switch, Alloy 7075 T6 made and anodized with a PTFE impregnation to reduce friction, 3 independent compression circuits LS – MS – HS = perfect ground flattening Custom-tuned for Mega/Giga100% CNCIntegrated Climb SwitchAlloy 7075 T6 made and anodized with a PTFE impregnation to reduce frictionMonobloc Shaft + eyelet = stiffer and strongerA membrane is used to reduce friction and heatViton Shaft seals for better heat resistanceVDP piston = better traction control3 independent compression circuits LS – MS – HS = perfect ground flatteningShock Weight without spring is 500g (230x65mm)Fast Suspension Fenix EVO Rear Shock Spring “Weights” 425lbs - Small450lbs - Medium475lbs - Large500lbs - X Large525lbs - XX Large Product description The MegaV4: born through Evolution, not revolution. The Nukeproof Mega: an “enduro bike” that was ahead of it’s time. Originally developed and later named after the race it was designed for on the infamous trails of Alp D’Huez. To date the Mega platform is one of the most highly decorated race bikes on the market: with the 2017, 2018 (x2) and 2019 Enduro World Series Titles; a Downhill World Championship top 10 and a Silver Medal at the 4x World Championship to its name. (As well as a host of other national and international victories and titles!) Since 2009 the Nukeproof Mega has been constant path of development to meet the evolving demands of our riders and customers alike. Our team are relentlessly striving for improvements and with each generation the Mega has been chiselled and shaped into today’s thoroughbred Enduro race bike. With the launch of the 2020 Carbon Mega 290c, you could forgive our designers for resting on their laurels. However, as Nukeproof products are developed between the tapes, there is a constant desire to hone and refine in order to give our athletes and riders the best possible chance of standing on top of the podium. Designed as an evolution of the ultimate Enduro bike, the Mega V4 has been fully reimagined to offer optimised sizing/fit, improved Geometry and suspension kinematics. Most importantly you can now fit a water bottle inside the main front triangle! Frame Construction: To optimise the weight, strength and stiffness, the Mega Carbon frame features a T700/800 UD woven carbon fibre frameset (Front and rear Triangle). The carbon swingarms helps reduce the unsprung weight on the rear of the bike. It is available for 27.5”, 297 or 29” wheel sizes. These are totally different, compromise free frames that were designed and developed at the same time. Each frame is simply tailored around each wheel size so that you can get the most out of every ride. Updated Sizing/Geometry: Whilst humans may not have changed size much in recent years; the bikes they choose to ride most certainly have. To ensure a perfectly dialled fit we now offer the 297 bikes in S, M, or L sizes and the 290 bikes in M, L, XL or XXL. Lower, longer, steeper and slacker! Our new geometry is now designed around the saddle offset for each size to optimise seated weight distribution. This results in steeper seat angles across the board but especially on larger sizes for taller riders. This in turn results in longer reach figures to ensure a comfortable cockpit on each size. To further aid the perfect fit we have also used shorter seat tubes which are designed to maximise seat post insertion depths. Finally, all new Mega bikes are now designed to use short offset forks to further improve both climbing and descending capabilities. Suspension Design: To step-change the Mega’s suspension design we went back to the drawing board and started afresh. We redesigned the Mega 4 bar horst linkage to be super supple over small bumps, progressive and supportive throughout the mid stoke for support when pedalling, cornering and pumping, with increased end stroke leverage to allow more tuning options with volume spacers. The kinematic is designed to have higher levels of anti-squat for climbing gears but this reduces as you drop down the cassette. The result is a bike that is more confidence inspiring everywhere on the hill. It behaves itself on the climbs; yet can still be thrashed through the roughest and most technical terrain on the way back down. Tuned and Ready to Build
