The New Testament: A New Translation (Illustr.), 1944/1946, Sheed-Ward.

- first printed 1944.  this is a 1946 printing.

- 6.3 x 9.5 inches approx.; 502 pages; hdbk.
- note:  book covered in durable, water-proof vinyl.  Visible vertical streaks are not in the cover itself, but rather are imperfections in the vinyl.
- heavily illustrated with approx. 58 full-page color plates on photo-paper.  In addition, small 2-inch sketches from old block prints are found on most pages.
-  this translation was undertaken by Knox in 1939.  The preface describes the changes in this new translation.  To my unschooled eye, the text reads more smoothly, as a normal book narration.

Condition:
Good+ to Very Good Condition for this New Testament new translation.  Cover shows very little wear.  Vertical streaks in pics are in the vinyl, not on cover.  No owner name inside.  Light age-tanning visible on most pages.  Light moisture stains found along the edges of perhaps 20 pages...not dark and not pronounced.  Hinges/binding are strong/tight.   Some small dog-ears straightened.  Otherwise, interior is clean: no creases, tears, marks or stains found.
