ABOUT TARGET VIDEO
Target Video was a pioneering San Francisco-based video production company that played a significant role in documenting and promoting the punk and underground music scenes of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Founded by Joe Rees and Jackie Sharp in 1977, Target Video became known for its raw and unfiltered recordings of live performances, interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage of punk rock bands and other alternative music acts.

Some of the iconic bands and artists captured by Target Video include the Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Flipper, The Cramps, and many others from the punk and post-punk movements. These recordings provided a valuable historical record of the DIY ethos and subversive energy of the punk scene during that era.

Target Video's work helped preserve the visual history of the punk and underground music scenes and contributed to the broader cultural understanding of these subcultures. The company's archives remain an important resource for researchers, historians, and fans interested in the history of punk rock and alternative music.
