This Listing is for a new nvme that can plug into a spare Pcie slot on your 4,1 or 5,1 Mac Pro. You can then boot your Mac Pro with the latest build of Sonoma 14.4.1. The nvme boots to the desktop of your Mac Pro 2009-12 seamlessly. You will then need a wired, USB hub powered mouse and keyboard to install root patches which automatically present themselves. After installing these root patches, a one time process, you will have graphics acceleration, USB support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Your Mac will then be running Sonoma without further interaction.

You should have a Nvidia Metal/Kepler or AMD Polaris/Vega compatible GPU for this to be successful.  The cards you need to boot should be at least the GTX670, GTX680 and the Nvidia 700 series, the early 600 series will not work. I sell the GTX 680 with native Mac boot screens - see my other listings. The AMD RX560, RX570 and RX580 and later AMD/Polaris/Vega Series should work without modification. Generally if you are using the card with Mojave already you should be fine.

This listing is for the nvme and board  and installed software. This will work with the Mac Pro 4,1 and 5,1 - years 2009/2012. This is not an installation process, this is pre-installed software for the Mac Pro.

I am happy to help at any stage of the process to help you upgrade your Mac.

For your Mac Pro to boot from a M2. nvme your firmware must be updated to the latest (last) bios version 144.0.0.0 [I can help you achieve this if you would like] Go to the Apple logo top left, About this Mac/System Report/Hardware Overview/System Firmware/Boot Rom Version to check what firmware you have.

I recently tested a SSD with Sonoma on my Mac Pro 2010 with Black Magic Speed Test. It was 320Mbs. I then tested a nvme it was 1300Mbs. I recommend nvme for these machines if you have a spare Pcie slot.
