1972 Porsche  911 Brochure

911T, 911E, 911S

“Once you buy a Porsche, there is no other kind of car”

This is the USA Brochure for the 1972  model year of Porsche 911 line of cars.

It is very colorful, with many pictures of Porsche cars on the racetrack and on the road.

Some of the pictures shown are:

·         The Porsche family, including Dr. Ferry & F.A. Porsche & Ferdinand Piech

·         Classic Porsche racing cars

·         The Porsche factory as cars are being assembled

·         Details of the current models, 911 T, E, S, and Targa

·         The interior of a 911

·         Technical specifications

Three models were available, all now with a 2,341 cc engine:

·         911T, 6-Cylinder, 133 HP, 128 miles per hour

·         911E, 6-Cylinder, 157 HP, 137 miles per hour

·         911S, 6-Cylinder Top-of-the-line Model, 181 HP, 143 miles per hour

All three engines could be ordered in two body styles:

·         Coupe

·         targa

According to this brochure,  all 911 models came standards with a 4-speed transmission.  A 5-speed or Sportomatic was optional on all models.

There are quite a few quotes from Porsche owner’s, race car driver’s and magazine editors.  For example:

Thank God there’s no 48 hour race anywhere in the world, because chances are nobody in the world could beat  the Porsche in a 48 hour race.  They’re probably  the only cars that would stand up for something like that
