This listing is for a unique item produced by the Royal Canadian Mint. In 2021 the R & D lab experimented with different types of technology and materials to potentially use in future toonies. They produced a set of 6 different ones and this listing is for ONE of those. I have listings for all six types. Each of these "coins" is called a "test token" since they are not legal tender (they have no denominations on them and strictly not toonies).

Providing the newest and most complex security features, this token combines four different components: an outer ring, a polymer separator and an inner core featuring two different alloys. It also features interrupted serrations on its edge and multi-security features including visible and hidden microtext, latent images, plus positive and negative embossing.

The exact test token in this listing is:

Token 2: Your second MC4 prototype features a nickel-plated steel outer ring, a black (opaque) polymer separator, a copper-plated steel reverse and a brass-plated steel obverse. MC4 stands for "multi-component-circulation-coin.

You will receive the test token described, still sealed in mint plastic. This test token weighs 7.9 grams and has a diameter of 25.8 mm
