Corton SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR ON THE TITLE PAGE (without dedication - affixed to the front is a sticker stating: "Signed by the author"); Belknap Press of Harvard University Press 2015 1st ed/1st printing, 391pp., text generally in decent order, slight staining to the page extremities at the very top, side & bottom, slight bumping & rubbing to board corners at the top - heavier to those at the bottom, bumping & rubbing to the top, bottom & sides of boards - noticeably heavier to the top & bottom of the spine, rear board has a patch of rubbing/staining, the dust jacket is heavily rubbed & creased at the top - less so at the bottom - with scuffing to the corners (one minute tear to the front bottom right hand one) & to the top (+ one tear & slight loss) & bottom of the spine, both front & rear have many marks & scratches. Book = good; jacket = acceptable+. The classic London fogs - thick yellow "pea-soupers" - were born in the industrial age and remained a feature of cold, windless winter days until clean air legislation in the 1960's. Christine L.
