Lovely heavy duty metal box made by a very old company ‘ F Francis and Sons London ‘ the embossed makers name is just about visible under the paint .

Not quite sure what this box would have been used for , it’s also stamped with the letters C & M 1940. Possibly milk pail or mess tin ?

Very strong tin box with swing main handle and a lift of lid with two smaller handles.

Possible stamped letter V or military arrow mark on the tin as seen in the last picture.

Probably later painted decoration which is quite nice and suits the shape of the box well.

Good condition, but does have some paint loss and little dents etc….
