1959 Porsche 356 Convertible D Brochure

This is an original sales brochure for the Porsche 356 Convertible D (Drauz). 

 

·         This was a one-year only model

·         It was replacing the outgoing Speedster (1958)

·         It was about to be replaced the next year by the updated 356B.

 

I believe this the very first brochure that specifically targets the US buyer.

The brochure starts off:

 “The only imported car designed with you, the American driver, in mind, the Convertible D is a subtle blend of elegance, power and comfort. …”

 

The brochure shows some detail pictures of the interior and top to demonstrate the quality workmanship. 

 

Essentially all pictures of the car are black & white but the brochure has been accented with some very pretty colors throughout. 

 

There are no technical specifications.

 

Dimensions: 9” by 4.5”, 8 sides / pages

 

 

Condition:    Brochure was once folded in half, some wear & discoloration.
