Some history on Biafra & Nigeria:
Biafra was a secessionist state in Nigeria from 1967 to 1970, declared independent by the Igbo people due to political and ethnic tensions. The conflict started after Nigeria gained independence, as the Igbo felt marginalized and excluded from power. Biafra faced a military campaign by the Nigerian government, leading to a devastating civil war and a blockade that caused a humanitarian crisis. Biafra had limited international recognition, and eventually, the Nigerian government regained control. The conflict resulted in millions of deaths, mainly due to famine and disease. Today, the Biafran conflict remains an important topic in Nigeria, with calls for greater autonomy or restructuring to address historical grievances.
