C type/CF type (slant-cut cylindrical)

Features: Use the bevelled part of the tip for soldering, suitable for soldering that requires a large amount of tin, CF type tip only has tin plating on the bevelled part, only the bevelled part of the tip can be coated with tin when soldering, so the amount of tin coated will be different from the C type tip, depending on the needs of soldering and selection.

Application: Suitable for soldering SOJ, PLCC, SOP, QFP, power supply, grounding parts, correcting soldering bridges, connectors and so on.


H type
Features: The tin layer is on the bottom of the tip.

Application: Suitable for soldering SOP, QFP with large pitch. 

Selection of soldering iron tip.

1.Size

i) The size of the soldering joint: according to the size of the soldering joint to choose the appropriate iron head can make the work more smoothly. If the tip is too small, the temperature will be insufficient. Too large, there will be a large amount of solder dissolved, the amount of tin control difficult.
 ii) Density of the soldering point: In the more dense circuit board for soldering, the use of smaller and thinner iron tip can reduce the chance of the formation of tin bridge.

2. Shape
i) Types of soldering components: Different types of electronic components, such as resistors, capacitors, SOJ chips, SOP chips, require different soldering iron tips to improve work efficiency.
ii) The ease of contacting the soldering point: If the position of the soldering point is surrounded by some higher electronic components which are difficult to contact, the longer and younger shape of the soldering iron tip can be used.
