Arkansas Geological Survey Annual Report (1992) - Volume II - Includes The Tertiary Geology of South Arkansas is an historical history book in every sense of the word -- a book written in the past about the past and thus offering up a lot of "lost history".   From fossil beds to coal beds and everything in between -- the maps, plates, etchings and descriptive writing cover a lot of ground.  The survey was taken when roads were few and land -- and people -- were still rough and raw.   The author takes us across southern Arkansas to visit hundreds of localities -- Toledo, Cross Roads Church, Sulphur Springs. Lignite, the Jersey post-office, Bradley Station, Cow Ford, Locust Cottage, Alga Bluff. and others.    I hope a geologist, historian, or naturalist with a passion for history will help me transfer this book from my collection to their collection.  These surveys contain so much great information that remains valid and useful today.
