This is a hand-painted, signed plate by A. Dix, one of Doulton's premier artists going back to the turn of last century. The theme is two young girls tossing a ball. I believe it's just one of a series painted by this artist.

Picture #2 above shows the back stamp "Royal Doulton England (keep in mind that in 1940 the stamp was changed to "Royal Doulton MADE IN England". Additionally, you'll see "Ovington Bros." an old shop in the U.K. for which the plate was made.

In Picture #3, you can just about see a hairline crack (my finger is pointing to it). It does NOT come through to the front!!!! Picture #4 shows where the crack would be if it came through.

In picture #5, you can see the series number "E3662, which indicates a manufacture date of 1905 - 1907.

A GREAT plate to hang in your kid's room - or to display anywhere else in your home...

The plate has a diameter of a bit under 9"

Plate will be shipped immediately upon receipt of payment, and wrapped with enough bubble wrap to choke the proverbial horse!
