This listing is for an antique German porcelain match striker holder made by Conta Boehm. Captioned with the words "Ready To Start," the young lady figure is dressed for cold weather in Victorian  hat and coat with fur hand muff. At her side is her open satchel that holds the matches. On the back of that is the rough surface for which to light the 'Strike anywhere' type of matches that were in common use during its time.

The holder was decorated with attention to detail, down to the hand painted flowers for which  Conta Boehm fairing pieces are known for.

This item is in excellent condition without damage.  The base is marked with Conte Boehm mark and is numbered  as model 4103. Measures 6" height. Great addition to any collection of antique Victorian fairings in general and/or match strikers.
