Hondius' map of 1606, this very beautiful map of the Colonial Southeast of the United States presents some improvements, such as the naming of the area around Chesapeake Bay - „Newport Nesa“, as well as Arglas or Bermouth. The coats of arms on the map show the English and French colonies. Decorated with a beautiful cartouche depicting six natives wearing their traditional costumes.
