Rare 2 gallon Advertising Jug for:

Bent’s Brewery Co Ltd. Of Liverpool


John Bent was founder of the brewery and was the Lord Mayor of Liverpool and he was knighted in 1851.


This stoneware crock salt glazed jug was probably produced between 1890 and 1900. It is 16” tall and once held 2 gallons of Bent’s finest brew. It is empty.


There is a crack in this old jug which does not distract from its unique beauty and is shown in the pictures.


The process of the salt glazing during its manufacturing gave this piece a very unique look which is called Turkey droppings and as survived for over 100 years.


This was an estate find.
