These are water slide decals. For best results, apply decals to a painted surface. They will not bond to most unpainted plastics. Cut desired decal from the sheet with sharp scissors. Soak the cut decal in clean, warm water for 20 seconds. Remove the decal from water before the backing comes off. Slide the decal from the paper onto the desired surface. Blot excess water from the edges of the decal. Allow to dry. For uneven or tectured surfaces, apply a decal setting solution such as Microscale Micro-Set to help the decal settle onto the surface. Apply a clearcoat once the decals are fully dry and set.
Our Railroad Roman decal sheet was created from the Latin characters of the Tibetan Machine font. This font's appearance is similar to the Roman serif lettering used by many railroads in the early 20th century. The precise appearance of the lettering varied from railroad to railroad, and sometimes from car to car. As such, this decal set is not an exact match for the lettering of any particular railroad. This typeface was developed by Tony Duff and was further developed by Chris Fynn and Nathaniel Grove. Characters from this font have been reproduced under the terms of the GNU General Public License.
