Tri-Stay Egress Fire Escape UPVC Window Friction Hinge Stays, Side Opening, with Built-in Safety Restrictor. 12 Inch or 16 Inch Long Options Available.
This is the 12 inch or 16 inch long unique egress friction hinge that was developed to be able to provide a side opening fire escape egress solution to Upvc windows, and also timber casement openers, to allow them to achieve emergency egress should the need arise. However, the hinge comes with built-in child safety restrictors for day-to-day use. This is to prevent falls from opening windows should vulnerable persons open the window without supervision.
The hinge range has been specifically designed to provide a real solution where the need for fire escape is a requirement. However, you also need to keep young and vulnerable persons safe from falling out of a wide opening window when opening them for day-to-day ventilation.
The hinges are made in two lengths (12 inch long or 16 inch long) and are a 13mm stack height, which is the most common height. Should you need to achieve a 17mm stack height you can fit the 4mm packer to achieve this. Search for our part number 1612.
