Not a true herringbone pattern, but rather straight diagonal in the same vein as you can see in the images. This Jil Sander coat is surprisingly light considering its appearance, making it excellent for year-round wear with options for layering. This would pair wonderfully with a sweater underneath for colder weather, and is light enough to wear year round even in warmer climates.

The material is 100% virgin wool as indicated on the tags and the item is made in Germany. The closure is three buttons but the lapels aren't overly-opinionated making it very amenable to the popular "3 roll 2" if that's more your style. Two slash pockets give this a more casual look, making it perfect for dressing up an otherwise casual outfit or dressing down a more formal one. Similarly the length is something in-between a traditional blazer and a topcoat or car coat, giving it some added versatility.

Purchased this for myself since the tag indicated 44, but found that the true measurements were more like a 38-40. My loss, per usual. As always, compare the measurements to your own clothing. I've included them in the images above as well as here for your convenience:
- Shoulder: 17 3/4"
- Chest (pit to pit): 21"
- Sleeve (measured as shown): 30.5"
- Length from base of collar: 29.5"
