Malakhai (also malakai) is a historical male headdress in Central Asia, a conical fur hat with large ears. The term is usually applied by researchers to Kazakh triukha hats with a high crown, hats with a low crown are described by Kazakh scientists as "tymak". Usually used in winter to protect from the cold, it also played the role of a soft helmet in the summer.

A typical malachai has four lobes: two cover the ears, one covers the back of the head and neck, and another forms a kind of visor.
