These are horn wraps cut from leather that most people refer to as "mule hide." I suspect it is referred by that name due to its toughness, as it does not come from a mule. This leather is actually called chrome tanned apron split which is also many times used for building shoeing aprons. I cut these here in my shop and they are 1 3/4"-1 7/8" wide instead of the 1 1/2" width that many are cut at. I found this 1 3/4" Plus width worked better for me on my saddles so always cut them to that width.
One end will have been rounded and the tail will have a long taper cut on it. I cut these from 7/8 oz weight leather and are the full length of the leather they were cut from and generally 50" to 60"plus in length. They do also stretch some when you put them on the saddle
I have set the store to combine shipping, so if you are purchasing more than one item put in your cart and request the total. I can then adjust it and possibly save you even more money on shipping than the automated system does after getting everything into one box and getting an exact weight.
