This was my mother's christening cap in 1916. It was hand crocheted. I will say that originally this

had white satin ribbon that tied the cap onto the baby's head. That ribbon has disintegrated, although

another could easily be added. The pattern is of eight flowers with eight petals each across the front,

sides, and turned up brim. The back is a roundel. I'm not sure of the original color, but it is now, after

more than a hundred years, antique white. There are no holes, tears, stains, or problems. Great for

giving your modern baby an antique look. Also a fine display piece in a nursery or playroom.
