AMBROTYPE - RARE FULL PLATE - REGAL LOOKING WOMAN WITH MAT & LOVELY WOODEN FRAME - How often do you have an opportunity to buy a full plate ambrotype? I know I have rarely found many chances to purchase one myself. I am offering this regal Ambrotype portrait of a woman dresses in her absolute finest attire seated in an ornate high backed chair. Her face beautifully framed by her bonnet adorned with ribbons and silk flowers. Her wonderful likeness is held inside an oval black wooden frame. The backside has an old newspaper? used as a means to seal the image into the frame. Don't miss this opportunity to own a beautiful framed whole plate produced sometime around the 1850's. CONDITION: Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of the image and as part of my description. The full plate Ambrotype contains excellent contrast, tonal range and sharpness. The image contains very minor surface wear consistent with age. Amazing details can be seen in her fashions. The heavy duty wood frame with raised ornamentation is in excellent antique condition with minor blemishes or losses. Typical crazing to the paint finish consistent with age. The image has been displayed for a number of years on a small easel in my collection and I am happy to provide the easel to the winner if you so desire.
