 Up for Sale is a Beautiful 1856 Colored York, Maine County Map. First Large Scale and Detailed Map of Southern Maine to be Produced. Originally Created by Topographical Surveyor J. Chase Jr. as shown in 2nd photo. This Map was Published by J.L. Smith & Co. and most likely printed in the Boston Office, not Philadephia. 58 1/2" x 58 1/2" for the Map itself not including the original wood dowels. Top is 61 1/2"L and Bottom 65"L. Acquired from the Attic of a Hollis, ME Home!
Towns are Colored and the Perimeter shows many Lithographs of prominent buildings in the county such as Saco Town House, Court House in Alfred & Ship Building in Kennebunkport.
 This Early York County Map features Locations of Individual Property Owners & Businesses which are shown on the 20 Center-of-Town Inset Maps scattered around the Perimeter of the Map. Inset Maps include Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Saco/Biddeford, York, Sanford, Kittery and the NAVY YARD in Kittery. 
 This Historical Wall Map that would look Fabulous in a Law Office, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Library, Town Museum or in the Living Room of Your Home.
The Map is not Perfect and will have several areas with small holes. Old Dry Stain is shown on the bottom right. The map will have cracking of paper and creases to the surface.
