Up for auction is this 1940 model Jack Daniel bottle in great condition with its original green bakelite lid. ONE PINT size. FEDERAL LAW FORBIDS SALE OR RE-USE OF THIS BOTTLE embossing present. These era bottles had a paper label on them, could have been a Lem Motlow Apple or Peach Brandy or even a Private Stock. May be an Old No. 7, hard to say without the label.

A screenshot of the Liquor Industry Hearings from 1943 is attached which shows the permit number D925 which belonged to the Jack Daniel Distillery. These permit numbers were required by law for many years to be embossed on the bottoms of whiskey bottles and every distillery was assigned their own number. D925 belonged to Jack.

Bottle is in good shape overall, no cracks or bruises. Bottle could be cleaned much better with a bottle tumbler if desired. I've already cleaned it the best I know how at the moment. Just needs a label to complete it. 1940 is a tough year to get just like 39's. Both are hard years.

Be sure to take a look at my other bottle listings, I have many more year specific Jack bottles.

Any questions are welcome.
