CHURCH VINTAGE BROGUES - BLACK – UK 8 – LEGATE - EXCELLENT
CONDITION
A very fine pair of Custom Grade cap-toe semi-brogue oxford shoes in
beautiful black bookbinder leather from Church. They are in excellent used
condition overall - notwithstanding a
little creasing across the vamps and the odd surface mark here and there (see
photos). This pair were originally sold as ‘subs’ – but I do not know why that
was – and are very little worn at all –I would estimate on six or seven
occasions – ever !!
In my opinion, although modern-day Church shoes are
still very desirable, well-made and fashioned from first-class materials, they
are not quite as exceptional as those from some years ago. So, if you can find
a pair of vintage Church’s in really nice condition then you are probably
finding some of the nicest shoes around.
But, please remember, these are not new so do not bid on them if you
want a pair of completely unmarked shoes – they will cost considerably more !!
The width fitting is ‘F’ – which is the ‘standard’ width fitting.
The style is ‘Legate’ – a classically proportioned oxford semi-brogue
and one of Church’s best known designs. This pair were formed on the popular 73
Last.
The shoes feature leather soles, bookbinder leather uppers, lightweight
leather / linen linings and super build-quality.
(Shoe trees not included)
