The polycarbonate lenses are resistant and coated for improved scratch resistance, but are not unbreakable.

Clear and tinted lenses filter out 99.9% of all harmful UV. Tinted lenses offer protection against sunglare, but should not be used in welding, brazing or cutting operations or where there are dangerous levels of IR radiation.
