"Buying Polo Ponies in the West" is a vintage Frederic Remington print.  Frederic Remington (1861-1909) was a very important illustrator, painter sculptor and author of the Vanishing American West.  He began sketching for Harper's in 1882. Remington knew the Indian, the cowboy, the cavalryman and the Mexican vaquero, and hunted bison, wolves, grizzlies and moose. “Everything that happened on the plains or in the mining camps served him as subjects, and of all these he made permanent and faithful records” (Who Was Who in American Art).

"Buying Polo Ponies in the West" is 11" x 14.25" in overall size and 10.25" x 14.25" in image size.  It is in excellent condition.

Chuck Olson Collection

Chuck Olson spent over 40 years collecting and traveling the United States in search of unique vintage prints.  He was especially interested in prints that were printed for use on calendars in the "Age of the Calendar" from 1900-1960. Chuck amassed a collection of well over 10,000 framed and unframed prints before his death.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions about the item.
