WHAT IS LUREX HONEYCOMBE FABRIC - Polyester Lurex stretch fabric is a synthetic fabric that combines the properties of both polyester and spandex fibres. It is a blend of polyester, which is a durable and wrinkle-resistant synthetic fibre, and spandex, which is a highly elastic fibre known for its 4 way stretch and recovery properties. The width is 60" - 150 cm. This product is priced per half metre / Metre. All orders are cut off the roll & sent as a continuous piece.
WHAT IS LUREX USED FOR - The combination of polyester and spandex in fabric production results in a material that is comfortable, flexible, and form-fitting. It is commonly used in the production of sportswear, activewear, swimwear, leggings, tights, and other clothing items that require stretch and mobility. Spandex fabric is also often used in the creation of body-hugging garments that provide a snug fit while allowing freedom of movement.
PERFECT FOR DRESS / COSTUME MAKING - The fabric's stretch, durability, and availability in various colours and prints make it suitable for creating costumes and cosplay outfits. Dance costumes and leotards often use polyester spandex fabric due to its stretch, durability, and ability to retain its shape. It allows dancers to move freely while maintaining a form-fitting appearance.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS - Use a gentle cycle machine wash with cold or lukewarm water to protect the fabric. Air drying is the preferred method for drying polyester spandex fabric. Hang the garment on a clothesline or lay it flat on a clean, dry surface. Spandex fabric is generally wrinkle-resistant and does not require ironing. However, if necessary, use a low heat setting and place a thin cloth or ironing sheet between the fabric & the iron.
