Freight

WARA 1 type

The Wara 1 type freight car was introduced in 1962 and is a typical post-war two-axle boxed freight car with over 17,000 manufactured.
It is highly versatile and was frequently used along with various freight cars on freight trains pulled by electric, diesel, and steam locomotives throughout the country.
Although it contributed to increasing the transportation capacity of JNR, it was completely abolished in 1987 before the division and privatization of JNR.
