L’un des plus grand affichiste de sa génération a aussi été le plus prolifique. Si les affiches de Besançon, de l’Orient Express ou de Villard de Lens sont très connues, ce modèle très rare marque les tout débuts de la collaboration de Broders avec le PLM entamée vers 1920 et poursuivie avec la SNCF.

Image d’Épinal par excellence, la précision des détails et la présence de la montagne (un de ses thèmes favoris) font de ce modèle l’image générique d’une France rêvée. Style très classique, certes, mais intemporel.

🇬🇧 One of the greatest poster artists of his generation was also the most prolific. If the posters of Besançon, the Orient Express or Villard de Lens are very well known, this very rare model marks the very beginnings of Broders' collaboration with the PLM, which began around 1920 and continued with the SNCF.

An idealized image for sure, but the precision of the details and the presence of the mountain (one of his favorite themes) make this model the generic image of a dreamed France. Very classic style, certainly, but timeless.
