Order of Christ – 30cm (12”) Customised Collectable Figure, 1/6 Scale.

This Portuguese Military Order was formed in 1319 after the abolition of the Templars in 1312. This order consisted of a collection of former Knights who were protected by the Portuguese King from persecution and indiscriminate slaughter. Philip IV of France influenced Pope Clement to have the Knights Templar annihilated throughout Europe for alleged heresy, one of the worst religious crimes of the era. The Order was secularised by Queen Maria of Portugal in 1789 and the Order flourished until its demise in 1910, along with the Portuguese monarchy. The Order was re-established in 1917 as an Honorific Order and you will see the distinctive cross emblem displayed even today, in high Military Medal Honors and as the emblem of the Brazilian Football Federation, the Olympic Committee of Portugal, the Portuguese Navy and Airforce, among others. This handmade and fully posable Knight stands approx. 30cm tall and comes complete with a custom Heater style shield, two battle axes, set of chainmail, coif, cloak, Order of Christ Banner, custom belts, helmet and handmade base with stand.
