I've not com across this style of face before. hinge is stiff as if new, looks like it was japanned this has either worn away or been removed. The leather case is has a named officer stamped on the inside Captain H. A. McDonald, the leather belt eye will need to repaired the stitches have come adrift.
Overall this is the finest Verners I have ever seen.
