Regret."  lightly bridging the gap between goth and hardcore, and paving the way for the metalcore bands of the 90s which ended up having their own line of heavy bands in Europe - all of the H8000 catalogue.

Youth crew bands like Youth of Today, Bold, Side By Side, and the heavier of them like Judge pushed straight edge and drug free culture in a way that still sticks today. All of the crust bands who felt heavier but played faster, splitting off from Discharge and influenced at least in pacing by Motorhead, or slowing down to the tempo of a band like Dystopia. Revelation Records, New Age Records, Ebullition, Dischord, early Victory, Equal Vision, Trustkill, Stillborn Records, Solid State, all rich history of things to come.
