Germanium diodes D302-D305 have a some unique characteristics, unexcelled by today's Shottky and ultra-fast diodes. The main quality is a very low forward voltage and slowed speed of closing. (Therefore D302-D305 have a sizable reverse current). As effect is an absence of "claps" in commutation process and absence of hight-frequency harmonics in rectified voltage.
. audiophiles find, that a devices with rectifiers with diodes D302-D305 have a sound better, than with silicon-based diodes.
