This is a Truvativ TruShift 22-tooth chainring. It's made of steel. It appears to have no chain wear and no marks from being installed on a crankarm.
Important: It's the _5-arm_, 58mm BCD common on "compact" MTB cranksets of the mid-1990s — from Shimano, Truvativ and others. These are getting a little harder to find.
