One of a number of Tuck’s Oilette Gramophone Record Postcards listed today. Consider saving shipping costs by buying more than one. Raphael Tuck and Co. Launched the range in 1929, each postcard having a tiny 3.25” record glued to the picture side. The vocal and instrumental tracks play for a minute at 78rpm.

This card is record number 36 in series “I”, “When Johnnie Come Marching Home”, glued to Oilette postcard number 3105, “The Battle of Plassey, 1757. The Artillery keeping the enemy back with their 6-pounders”, from a painting by Harry Payne. In fair condition the card has the usual warping and rear staining associated with this range of cards, as well as some major creases, bumped corners, and one lost corner. I have not played the record but it appears to be in good condition.

Shipping:  Please take a look at the shipping options offered, which are based on my estimate of the selling price.  If an item sells for less than expected I may be able to reduce the shipping cost. Equally, if an item sells for considerably more than expected then you might wish to boost the insurance or the depth of packaging, which will increase the shipping cost.  I am always happy to combine items to reduce the shipping costs for you, but please note that when multiple items reach a high total value I may ask you to insure the package. If you want a service not stated, such as first class or surface mail, please ask for a quote. In all cases please discuss with me before making your payment. The maximum possible level of insurance on items sent overseas with Royal Mail is £250.  If the total value of contents exceeds this figure then you will have to accept the risk of sending the item(s), or choose an alternative courier.
