For the benefit of any potential buyers, I am going to write a very detailed description. As a Breitling collector, and having owned several Chronospace and Aerospace watches, I can advise on what to look for in terms of genuine/original parts, and condition.

Overall, this watch is in excellent condition considering this reference is from the late 90s, one of the best examples you will find on ebay. I’ve included many pictures, which you see can see some of the details in, especially if you zoom in.

The dial, which is black from certain angles, has taken a nice and consistent patina of dark gray from other angles. The hour markers also have a nice cream patina to them. These are probably my favorite elements of this particular watch. The hands are also in excellent condition. Sometimes the hands on older Chronospaces tend to have an unevenness/roughness, but these ones (aside from the same consistent patina as the markets on the lume) are in pristine condition, and really stick out from the dial itself for easy time reading. The sapphire crystal, and the anti-reflective coating, is also scratch free, and extremely legible, something that Breitling is known for.

The bezel is also in excellent condition. It rotates smoothly, but has a zero play, and the action is firm. Something to look for in older Chronospace models is if the paint on the numbers (the bezel is actually engraved with the numbers, and then filled with black/red paint) is still there. A more used bezel will have the engravings, but the paint has been scratched away (so it looks like metal on metal numbers). In this example, there are no numbers that I can visibly see that have paint removed. It is in excellent condition, especially compared to other examples of this exact watch on eBay.

A very important thing that other eBay sellers fail to mention is that the movement on this example is original. Many of the ones listed on eBay, especially the lowest priced ones, have movements that have been swapped out. An easy way to tell is if the numbers on the bottom LCD screen actually for the proportions of the screen. On this example you can see that they do. On other examples (just search on eBay for other examples), you will notice that the numbers on the bottom screen or truncated, and only fit towards the bottom of the screen itself. They don’t take up the entire screen, and look as though they do not fit the watch. Breitling would never do this out of the factory, these movements have been swapped out by sellers. Being fully transparent, one thing to note about this watch is that the all functions work as they should, except the movement no longer beeps for the alarm. Some of these things come with an original movement that is 30 years old. You should however, be able to use all the functions as they are intended. This includes the countdown timer, chronograph, GMT, and digital time. The action on the crown is very crisp and responsive, and the watch rotates through the various functions smoothly.

The bracelet is also in excellent condition given the age. There are some scratches, but you can still see a good portion of the polish, and there is not too much play (or wiggle) side to side. The clasp also closes firmly with a nice click, and does not come off unintentionally. The diver extension is also working nicely, and has tight tolerances, without much play. The clasp does have some scratches, probably a few more than the bracelet (from desk diving), but is functioning very well, so I would consider it in excellent condition.

Please take a look at all pics, do your research, and compare to other examples on eBay. When shopping vintage (if this is considered vintage), there can be a lot of potential pitfalls, so it’s always good to be well informed. I try to be as transparent as possible, so that you know what you are buying. Let me know if you have any questions! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this watch, but as my collection continues to grow, it’s time to find a new home. Also, it’s the watch only, as pictured, sized for my 6.5 inch wrist, with some additional links. No box or papers.
