Rare circa 1900 serurum tent pole strap

Made from brown English leather and lined with corrigated rubber to keep the strap from moving on the pole while in use.

The strap features 8 brass hooks for hanging clothing, along with a brass buckle and strap to seure the item

The securum is stamped:
'A&S
Military Broad Arrow'

For the:
'Army & Navy Cooperative Society'

'It is illustrated in The Army & Navy Catalogue of 1907 with the description 'This strap, lined with corrugated rubber, adheres closely to the pole, and so does not slip when articles are hung on it, the hooks being short and strong do not bend. Besides serving military purposes, it will be found useful in bathing and cricket tents'.
